Malaysian students joined short-term study program

Two pharmacy students from National University of Malaysia (UKM) joined the training program for six weeks from July 3 to August 10, 2017.

UKM and SUMS has exchanged their students and researchers based on the partnership agreement established in 2011. SUMS sent three nursing students to UKM last May to June in the same way.

Medical staff at the Pharmacy of our hospital introduced their role in patient care to the exchange students and exchanged ideas with them. They also visited to see the laboratory of Ritsumeikan University and the pharmacy owned by Shiga Pharmaceutical Association. They engaged in their fieldwork proactively, not only in our hospital, also in the town. At the drugstore, they did research what kind of medicine is available without prescription and found the differences between Japan and their home country.

On the final day for the training, they gave brilliant presentation of their study results about clinical pharmacy in health care and the cultural background of the two countries. Professors, pharmacists and students also gathered to participate in the session and the closing party to say farewell and wish to see each other again .
