President Uemoto and Director Tooyama attended the ceremony "40th Anniversary of the Friendship Ties between Shiga Prefecture and Hunan Province"
On November 10, 2023, Shiga Prefecture held a ceremony to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the friendship agreement between Shiga Prefecture and Hunan Province at the Lake Biwa Otsu Prince Hotel, and President Uemoto and Director Tooyama attended.
Shiga Prefecture and Hunan Province share a large lake, which led to the conclusion of a friendship agreement in March 1983, and this year marks the 40th anniversary of that agreement. Shiga Prefecture introduced us to Hunan University of Medicine, and after several rounds of online exchanges, we signed an international exchange agreement in February 2023.
At this ceremony, the agreement signed between the two universities was presented to the participants, and President Uemoto and Dr. Zhou Zhenfang, Director of the International Exchange of Hunan University of Medicine, each gave a greeting speech. President Uemoto stated, "I have high expectations that the conclusion of this international exchange agreement will serve as an opportunity for the younger generation of students and faculty members of both universities to deepen their exchanges and contribute to the development of academics and the improvement of medical care.” We look forward to further promoting exchanges between the two universities in the future.
