President of Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences visited SUMS
On August 3rd, 2022, Prof. Nyamdavaa Khurelbaatar, President of Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences (MNUMS) which is one of our partner universities, together with Prof. Shiirevnyamba Avirmed, Dean of Graduate School, paid a courtesy visit to our president, Prof. Shinji Uemoto.
Director Ikuo Tooyama, in charge of research, planning, and international affairs, Prof. Yutaka Kato (Department of Culture and Medicine, Division of English), and Mr. Koji Sukegawa (Head of International Planning Office) were present to discuss strengthening the relationship between the two universities, including student and faculty exchange and collaboration between the two university hospitals.
Then, two international students from MNUMS, Tsever Tsevegjav Bayarbat (Department of Medical Oncology) and Erlhembaatar Munkhsoyol (Department of Anatomy), gave presentations on their current research findings. The presentation was attended by the Presidents, Dean, and Director, as well as ten international students from Mongolia, and was followed by a casual gathering to chat in Mongolian.
Afterwards, Prof. Khurelbaatar and Prof. Avirmed toured the “Clinical Education Center for Physicians” under the guidance of Prof. Masaji Tani from the Department of Surgery, and experienced some simulators in the Center.
Two universities has forged a strong partnership and look forward to further collaboration in many areas, including education, research, and clinical care.
