29th SUMS International Symposium held on December 5th
On December 5th, the 29th SUMS International Symposium was held with a distinguished guest speaker Prof. Admad Khaldun Ismailm, hailing from the Faculty of Medicine (Emergency Medicine) at the National University of Malaysia, one of our partner universities.
Prof. Khaldun presented a lecture titled "Death by Venom: Introduction to Clinical Toxinology & Envenomation." Additionally, our university’s Department of Social Medicine (Legal Medicine) was represented by Prof. Masahito Hitosugi and Associate Prof. Mami Nakamura, who shared their expertise on poisoning and drug intoxication.
Online participation was not an option for this event. Nevertheless, the event drew a robust in-person audience, with more than 40 attendees actively participating in each session and engaging in lively discussions with the presenters.
Prior to the symposium, Prof. Khaldun made a courtesy call to President Uemoto and Director Tooyama, and they discussed the current situation of emergency medicine in Malaysia and the promotion of student exchange in the future, underlining the commitment to continued collaboration.
This became a great opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the two universities.
